WxSim Fire Forecast Charts by Beaumaris Weather, Tasmania
Beaumaris Weather ( North East Coast Tasmania ) provides forecasts that are generated every 3 hours daily using ( WxSim ). Below are charts for our current 8 day forecast. (Tip: Drag mouse over chart to zoom)
Soil Moisture and Temperatures
We have soil sensors buried in the ground at a Depth of 100mm.
We also used to have more sensors at Depths 200mm, 300mm and 400mm however they ceased operating and are too costly to replace.
Moisture is measured in Centibars ( cb ) with a range of 0 to 200
with 0 being totally saturated and anything over 100 being extremely dry.
The centibar ( CB ) is an agricultural unit of soil water tension (water pressure on plant roots).
We do not irrigate the area where the sensors are located, purely because we use this data as part of our onsite Fire Weather Monitoring.
